The Patient Weaver — A rather patient resident has taken its place on the Archive wall.

A Gothic oval wall plaque framed by elaborate Baroque scrollwork, with a large purple spider rising in relief from the solid black centre panel. Sweeping upper and lower flourishes, curled side ornament and layered oval mouldings give it the character of an old portrait whose sitter has taken a distinctly arachnid turn.

3D printed in PLA in our Dublin workshop, the contrasting purple spider stands clearly against the dark oval field while the ornate surround catches light across its raised edges. Fine layer lines may remain visible as part of the 3D-printing process.

Designed for gallery walls, reading corners, Halloween displays and alternative interiors where conventional portraits would feel altogether too well behaved.

Finish options

• Matte Black — the ornate frame and solid centre panel are printed in deep matte-black PLA, allowing the purple spider and sculpted edges to stand out clearly.

• Antique Silver — the black frame is hand-painted and dry-brushed with silver so the raised ornament catches the colour while the recessed details remain dark. Each plaque is finished individually, so small variations are part of its character.

• Antique Bronze — the black frame is hand-painted and dry-brushed with warm bronze tones, highlighting the raised scrollwork and mouldings while preserving the dark recessed detail.

• Other (message me) — a hand-painted frame finish in colours of your choosing for the same price. Send us a message before ordering and tell us what you have in mind; we will say honestly whether we can do it justice.

The solid centre panel remains black and the spider remains purple with each standard finish.

Printed, finished and packed by the two of us in Dublin, and posted from Ireland. EU orders are sent from within the European Union and do not incur import customs charges between EU member states.

Pieces in matte black are normally dispatched within 1–3 working days. Hand-painted finishes take 3–5 working days because the paint and protective finish need time to dry properly between coats.

Product safety

• Decorative wall plaque for indoor use only.

• Use a secure mounting method appropriate for the plaque and your wall type.

• Do not place objects on, hang objects from or use the plaque to support any load.

• Not a toy. Keep away from young children.

• Keep away from excessive heat, open flames and prolonged direct sunlight, as PLA can soften at high temperatures.

• Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth.

• Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, particularly on hand-painted finishes.

• Handle the projecting frame ornament and raised spider legs with care.

• Materials: PLA. Hand-painted finishes also use acrylic paint and matt varnish.

• Due to the nature of 3D printing and hand finishing, minor layer lines and small variations are normal and form part of each plaque’s character.
