The Harvest Wake — Pumpkin Skull Halloween Wreath, Gothic Door Decor

The Harvest Wake — Four heads on a wreath. Not the tasteful autumn kind.

A rigid wreath built from four pumpkin skulls — each one carved as a proper skull rather than a face, with a stalk on top and its own hollow sockets and rows of teeth — set into a ring of interwoven vines and curling tendrils. The whole thing prints as one solid piece, so there is nothing to wire together and nothing to shed.

At 22 × 24 cm it is a door-sized wreath, and being rigid it holds its shape year after year instead of sagging the way a foam-and-wire one does after its second October.

3D printed in PLA in our Dublin workshop, the matte surface keeps each skull’s sockets and tooth rows dark against the smooth gourd ribbing, and separates the vine work behind from the heads in front. Fine layer lines may remain visible as part of the 3D-printing process.

Designed for front doors, hallway walls and mantels through autumn — and it earns its keep in October rather than sitting in a box for eleven months.

Please note

Indoor use only, and that includes the inside of a front door. PLA softens in heat and goes brittle under sustained UV, so a south-facing porch or an exposed outside door will shorten its life considerably. Hung on the inside of a door, or on a hall or mantel wall, it will last indefinitely.

There is no fitted hanger. The vine work has several natural openings, so a ribbon loop or an over-door hook both work — pick whichever suits the door.

Finish options

• Matte Black — our standard finish. Deep matte-black PLA that holds shadow and shows every sculpted edge, raised detail and recess.

• Antique Silver — hand-painted over a matte-black base and carefully drybrushed so the raised detail lifts into silver while the recesses stay dark. Each one is finished individually, so no two are ever quite the same.

• Antique Bronze — the same hand-painted treatment in a warmer metal, for rooms where black reads too cold. Finished individually, so small variations are part of its character.

• Other (message me) — the same hand-painted finish in colours of your choosing, for the same price. Send us a message before you order and tell us what you have in mind, and we will say honestly whether we can do it justice.

Made and posted in Ireland

Printed, finished and packed by the two of us in Dublin, and posted from Ireland — so EU orders arrive without customs charges or import delays.

Pieces in matte black normally go out within 1–3 working days. Hand-painted finishes take 3–5 working days, because the paint needs time to dry properly between coats.

Product safety

• Decorative item for indoor use only.

• Handle the tendrils and stalks with care — they are the thinnest sections. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators.

• Not a toy. Keep away from young children.

• Keep away from excessive heat, open flames and prolonged direct sunlight — PLA can soften at high temperatures.

• Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, especially on a hand-painted finish.

• Materials: PLA. Hand-painted finishes also use acrylic paint and matt varnish.

• Minor layer lines and small variations in the printed or hand-painted finish are normal and form part of the piece’s character.

Every piece gets checked before it is packed. If something turns up damaged, or simply is not what you were hoping for, please send us a message — we are a two-person workshop and would far rather hear from you and put it right.
