The Colony Roost — Giant Bat Wall Shelf, Gothic Halloween Wall Shelf

The Colony Roost — a Gothic gallery of pointed arches, one bat hanging upside down beneath the ledge.

A substantial wall shelf: a deep moulded ledge over a gallery of four pointed Gothic arches in relief, with a single bat figure hanging head-down from the underside, wings folded, as if it had settled there itself. The scale of the piece — the largest shelf in this batch — makes it a genuine display surface rather than a small accent ledge.

The bat is fully sculpted in the round rather than a flat relief silhouette, so it reads correctly whether the shelf is viewed straight-on or from below.

Finish options

• Matte Black — our standard finish. Deep matte PLA that holds shadow and shows every sculpted edge.

• Antique Silver — hand-painted, drybrushed by us in the workshop so the raised detail lifts and the recesses stay dark. Each piece is finished individually, so no two are ever quite the same.

• Antique Bronze — hand-painted, drybrushed by us in the workshop so the raised detail lifts and the recesses stay dark. Each piece is finished individually, so no two are ever quite the same.

What it will hold

A single shelf for light display items — a book or two, a small figure, a candle holder or similar. Not intended for heavy or load-bearing items.

Made and posted in Ireland

Printed, finished and packed by the two of us in Dublin, and posted from Ireland — so EU orders arrive without customs charges or import delays. Matte black goes out in 1–3 working days; hand-painted finishes take 3–5, because the paint needs time to dry properly between coats.

Product safety

• Decorative wall shelf for indoor use only.

• Not a toy. Keep away from young children.

• Keep away from excessive heat, open flames and prolonged direct sunlight — PLA can soften at high temperatures.

• Fix securely to a solid wall with an appropriate fixing. Light display use only — not intended to carry heavy or load-bearing items.

• Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, especially on a hand-painted finish.

• Handle pierced tracery and any figural detail with care.

• Materials: PLA. Hand-painted finishes also use acrylic paint and matt varnish.

• Due to the nature of 3D printing, minor layer lines and small variations in finish are normal and form part of the piece's character.
