The Lion’s Trial — Two faces, one story, and the lion came off worse.
An arched wall crest carrying two faces stacked one above the other — a lion’s head with its mane spread wide across the upper half, and beneath it the bearded face of the man wearing that lion as a hood. A pierced tracery panel fills the arch above, and the whole crest finishes on a moulded ledge at the base.
3D printed in PLA in our Dublin workshop, the matte surface separates the lion’s mane from the beard below it, which is the whole trick of the piece — two heads of hair reading as two different things. Fine layer lines may remain visible as part of the 3D-printing process.
Designed as a wall piece rather than a shelf: it is the densest carving in the collection, and it wants a clear stretch of wall at eye level where the double face can be read properly.

Please note
This one is a wall crest rather than a shelf. The moulded ledge at the base is part of the carving and is not built to carry objects — if you want something that holds a candle or a crystal, one of the ledge shelves in this collection is the piece you want.
Mounting
Wall fixings are not included. Choose screws, plugs and fittings appropriate to your wall type, check the mounting surface is sound before fitting, and use a fixing rated comfortably above the weight of the piece and whatever you set on it. Adult installation recommended.
Finish options
Matte Black — our standard finish. Deep matte-black PLA that holds shadow and shows every sculpted edge, raised detail and recess.
Bronze & Silver — our two-tone finish, hand-painted here over a black base: the pierced tracery panel drybrushed in aged silver, both manes and the beard lifted in warm bronze. Each one is done individually, so no two are ever quite the same.

Printed, finished and packed by the two of us in Dublin, and posted from Ireland — so EU orders arrive without customs charges or import delays.
Pieces in matte black normally go out within 1–3 working days. Hand-painted finishes take 3–5 working days, because the paint needs time to dry properly between coats.

Keep away from excessive heat, open flames and prolonged direct sunlight — PLA can soften at high temperatures.
Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, especially on a hand-painted finish.
Handle fine projecting details with care.
Materials: PLA. Hand-painted finishes also use acrylic paint and matt varnish.
Minor layer lines and small variations in the printed or hand-painted finish are normal and form part of the piece’s character.

Every piece gets checked before it is packed. If something turns up damaged, or simply is not what you were hoping for, please send us a message — we are a two-person workshop and would far rather hear from you and put it right.
