The Waning Casket — A small stone chapel with a moon standing on the roof.
A two-part lidded casket. The body is a rectangular box ringed on all four sides by a Gothic arcade of pointed arches, standing on a stepped plinth. The lid is a flat plate that lifts straight off, and rising from it is a standing crescent moon — horns up, one clean sweep, no ornament at all.
The contrast is the whole idea: everything below the lid is dense architecture, everything above it is a single smooth curve. Inside, the box is open and undivided — about 14.8 cm long, 6 cm front to back and 2.8 cm deep, which takes rings, earrings, a couple of chains, pins, dice, small bones, whatever you keep.
3D printed in PLA in our Dublin workshop, the matte surface keeps every arch in the arcade separate and shadowed, while the crescent above stays smooth enough to read as one unbroken shape. Fine layer lines may remain visible as part of the 3D-printing process.
Designed for dressing tables, altar shelves and bedside tops, and as a gift for someone who already owns quite enough jewellery and nowhere to put it.

Please note
The lid is a lift-off plate rather than a hinged one, so it comes away completely when you open the box. There is no catch and no lock. It is not lined — if you are keeping anything with a soft finish in there, a scrap of felt in the bottom is worth adding.
Finish options
Matte Black — our standard finish. Deep matte-black PLA that holds shadow and shows every sculpted edge, raised detail and recess.
Antique Silver — hand-painted over a matte-black base and carefully drybrushed so the raised detail lifts into silver while the recesses stay dark. Each one is finished individually, so no two are ever quite the same.
Antique Bronze — the same hand-painted treatment in a warmer metal, for rooms where black reads too cold. Finished individually, so small variations are part of its character.
Other (message me) — the same hand-painted finish in colours of your choosing, for the same price. Send us a message before you order and tell us what you have in mind, and we will say honestly whether we can do it justice.

Printed, finished and packed by the two of us in Dublin, and posted from Ireland — so EU orders arrive without customs charges or import delays.
Pieces in matte black normally go out within 1–3 working days. Hand-painted finishes take 3–5 working days, because the paint needs time to dry properly between coats.
Product safety
Decorative item for indoor use only.
Lift the lid by its edges rather than by the crescent. Handle the crescent horns and the arcade detail with care.
Not a toy. Keep away from young children.
Keep away from excessive heat, open flames and prolonged direct sunlight — PLA can soften at high temperatures.
Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, especially on a hand-painted finish.
Materials: PLA. Hand-painted finishes also use acrylic paint and matt varnish.
Minor layer lines and small variations in the printed or hand-painted finish are normal and form part of the piece’s character.

Every piece gets checked before it is packed. If something turns up damaged, or simply is not what you were hoping for, please send us a message — we are a two-person workshop and would far rather hear from you and put it right.
