The Shadow Altar — Some relics are simply decorative. Others feel as though they have been recovered from the forgotten halls of a ruined cathedral. This one belongs firmly to the latter.

Featuring an imposing sculpted skull framed by intricate Gothic tracery, sweeping Baroque scrollwork and cathedral-inspired arches, this striking wall shelf transforms an empty wall into a dramatic focal point. Whether displaying candles, crystals, curiosities, miniature statues or treasured keepsakes, it creates the perfect stage for your most mysterious artefacts.

Each shelf is 3D printed in PLA and carefully finished in our Dublin workshop. Choose the understated depth of matte black or a hand-painted finish that highlights the raised ornament while leaving the recessed details dark.

Finish Options

  • Matte Black — Our standard finish. Deep matte PLA holds the shadows and allows every sculpted edge to stand out.
  • Bronze & Silver — Hand-painted and dry-brushed in our workshop, allowing the raised details to catch the light while the recesses remain dark. Each piece is finished individually, so no two will be exactly alike.
  • Other (message me) — Choose a hand-painted finish in colours of your choice for the same price. Send us a message before ordering and tell us what you have in mind; we will let you know honestly whether we can do it justice.

Hand-painted finishes use acrylic paint and matt varnish. As each one is completed by hand, the placement and intensity of the highlights may vary slightly.

Made and Posted in Ireland

Printed, finished and packed by the two of us in Dublin, then posted from Ireland. EU orders therefore arrive without customs charges or import delays.

Pieces in matte black are normally dispatched within 1–3 working days. Hand-painted pieces take 3–5 working days because the paint needs time to dry properly between coats.

Important Information and Product Safety

  • Decorative item for indoor use only
  • Designed for lightweight display items only; do not overload it
  • Not intended to serve as a structural shelf or support heavy objects
  • Wall fixings are not included, as the correct fixing depends on your wall type
  • Mount securely using fixings suitable for your wall; adult installation is recommended
  • Not a toy; keep away from young children
  • Keep away from excessive heat, open flames and prolonged direct sunlight, as PLA can soften at high temperatures
  • Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, particularly on hand-painted finishes
  • Handle fine projecting details with care
  • Materials: PLA; hand-painted finishes also use acrylic paint and matt varnish

Due to the nature of 3D printing, minor layer lines and small variations in finish are normal and form part of each piece’s individual character.

Every piece is checked before it is packed. If your order arrives damaged or simply is not what you were hoping for, please send us a message. We are a two-person workshop and would far rather hear from you and put things right.
