The Nightwings — Gothic Bat Plaque, Vampire Halloween Plaque

The Nightwings — Two rather nocturnal residents have taken their places on the Archive wall.

A coordinated pair of Gothic oval wall plaques, each framed by its own elaborate Baroque ornamentation. One carries the raised silhouette of a bat with fully spread wings, while the other features a snarling vampire-bat face emerging from the dark oval field.

Although designed as a pair, the plaques are deliberately different. The vampire is surrounded by dense scrolling foliage and deeper ornamental detailing, while the winged bat sits within a slimmer, more open frame. Beaded inner borders and sweeping upper and lower flourishes tie the two pieces together.

3D printed in PLA in our Dublin workshop, the sculpted surfaces pick out every wing membrane, facial ridge, bead and curling leaf while retaining their dark, restrained character. Fine layer lines may remain visible as part of the 3D-printing process.

Designed for gallery walls, reading corners, Halloween displays and alternative interiors where ordinary wall décor would feel altogether too well behaved.

Finish options

• Matte Black — our standard finish. Deep matte PLA that holds shadow and shows every sculpted edge.

• Bronze or Silver — hand-painted and dry-brushed by us in the workshop so the raised details catch the colour while the recesses remain dark. Each pair is finished individually, so no two will be exactly alike.

• Stone — hand-painted and dry-brushed to give the raised ornament a softly weathered, stone-like appearance while retaining the lightweight PLA construction.

• Other (message me) — the same hand-painted finish in colours of your choosing, for the same price. Send us a message before ordering and tell us what you have in mind; we will say honestly whether we can do it justice.

Made and posted in Ireland

Printed, finished and packed by the two of us in Dublin, and posted from Ireland. EU orders are sent from within the European Union and do not incur import customs charges between EU member states.

Pieces in matte black are normally dispatched within 1–3 working days. Hand-painted finishes take 3–5 working days because the paint and protective finish need time to dry properly between coats.

Product safety

• Decorative wall plaques for indoor use only.

• Mount securely using fixings appropriate for your wall type. 

• Wall fixings are not supplied.

• Not a toy. Keep away from young children.

• Keep away from excessive heat, open flames and prolonged direct sunlight, as PLA can soften at high temperatures.

• Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth.

• Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, particularly on hand-painted finishes.

• Handle the projecting frame ornament, wing tips and facial details with care.

• Materials: PLA. Hand-painted finishes also use acrylic paint and matt varnish.

• Due to the nature of 3D printing and hand finishing, minor layer lines and small variations are normal and form part of each pair’s character.
